Clash of the Frequencies
I AM NOT a professional engineer, but have put out some pretty good home recordings using a variety of equipment and software. This is an article I wrote based on my experiences. Hopefully it might help out some newbies. If any of you pros have feedback and further thoughts, it is welcomed!

Frequency Analyser
I require I piece of hardware I don't know the name of.
I want it to be able to take a measurement of the sound pressure level over a broad frequency. And display it in a graph, also handy to be able to send data to and from a laptop.
I want to use this device in this manner.

what frequencies are affected by tone knobs on a guitar amp?
Are there any generalizations one can make regarding the frequency ranges affected by the tone knobs on a guitar amp?
i.e. the range of bass, mid, treble, and presence
i.e. bass (80-300hz) *not sure if this is correct
What are some of the "good" frequencies for monito
With all this talk of bad this and bad that...I wonder, what frequencies are good?
By 'good' I'm thinking which are best for a sound to ensure good body, clarity and can cut thru the monitor to get to the performing musician?

Can't get rid of annoying frequencies, can anyone help ?
Hi fellas,
High frequency noise on vocals - help
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with unpleasant very high frequency 'noise' on my vocal takes that I generally have to eq out.
It's like there's some kind of artifact above 10k (that I don't think my voice is making but you never know!). If I multitrack B vs it's really noticable - almost like a hiss or a whistle.

Where can I get frequency response info on this hardware?
I got a blue tube stereo tube preamp with the 12ax7 tube. As well as a apex 435 condenser mic. I want to know what frequencies these add or cut. (how they color the signal). Any idea where I can get this info?
Also is it possible to get the same info for these speakers? Altec Lansing ACS33?
Thanks
How can I test the frequency response of my speakers?
Is there software or something that I can use to see what the frequency response of my speakers are? Like say I do a full spectrum sweep, I want to know what frequencies are being boosted/cut by the speakers. Is there some way to do this?
