Perfect frequency range? Masking?
Hello everyone. I'm currently working on a lot of mixes using both mic'd tracks and MIDI...It's mostly a rock style of music and a little bit more dominant in the lower end frequencies. Im looking for any advice or info on how to space out instruments in the frequency range to avoid masking and get the most of out the lower end.

Frequencies and Mic Placement
Hey everybody, my name is Nick and I'm an aspiring drummer and recording engineer/producer.
I'm going to be recording some drum tracks soon and I have been told that if mics are placed incorrectly then the frequencies will cancel each other out and effect the sound you are getting. What are the guidelines you guys follow as far as mic placement goes.

Some frequencies more likely to cause ear damage?
Is there any rationalization out there to think some frequencies are more prone to damage the human ear? Maybe 2khz-6khz because the ear canal resonates in that region? Or maybe loud subbass because of the amount of energy it takes to hear it as well as the higher regions?
Hi-pitched frequency from right Monitor?
I can't figure out what is causing a very high pitched frequency to emit through my Right monitor only. It's very distracting. It is in a random pattern, on and off every few seconds. It's like morse code... sometimes it's longer (2-3 seconds), sometimes short (1-2 seconds), in intervals of 1-4 seconds.

Low End Frequency Problem
So I've been mixing my bands various demos for about a year now and had been mixing on a pair of klipsch computer speakers before I actually got into this stuff, now a pair of KRK V6s.

How to get rid of frequency level up and down ?
Hello masters,
Frequency Cancellation?
Does anyone have any insight on frequency cancellation as it pertains to an entire mix. I think I might be experiencing it between the lead vocal and the guitars in one of my mixes. The guitars don't play during the verse and the lead vocal sounds nice and full, but when the guitars come in on the chorus the lead vocal sounds a little thin.

Summing up low frequencies
Hey guys,
I'm interested in the mechanics of summing up low frequencies of a mix during mastering (lower than 50Hz) to a narrower signal. How is this done by a mastering engineer?
Thanks in advance

Roll Off Frequencies
Hi, I'm a producer making a style of music smilar to drum and bass and i was wondering what frequency i should be rolling my basses off.
When i roll of at 50hz i get an increase in headroom which makes a better mix
but
when i roll of at 30Hz my Yamaha msp5's show a noticable difference in the bottom end, it sounds more full.
