Newbie with Starting Gear Questions.

Hi,

Newbie hear and completely new to the home recording world however after never being happy with the rushed time frame and arsehole producers of studio recording I have decided to become somewhat a hermit and study the art of recording.

I am a singer songwriter / multi instrumentalist of an indie / psychedelic / pop / grunge ilk . . however I am not technically minded.

New years gear observations

1. Api pres are sick on aggressive drums, they may not sound great isolated, wait until you get a mix going
2. I was right 6 years ago, SM7B is still awesome on the bottom of a snare through Daking pre
3. Royer 101, yeah it is sick, buy one, now
4. Patchbays are easy if you spend 1 month to think about it, then 6 hours to wire it

Which gear choose to a home studio?

So, I want to record covers for youtube and I want them to have high quality (without noise, clear, the voice is not distorted). What gear I must buy to achieve that quality? My computer is laptop. I want record keyboard, piano, violin, acoustic guitar and voice. What interface do I need? And what kind of microphones?

Best gear to connect spring reverb into line-level patchbay?

I have a very nice spring reverb that I use between my guitar and my guitar amp. I would like to connect it to my studio patchbays and use it during mixdown.

It is a tube buffered unit...to be specific, a Dumblelator-type circuit with the reverb hard-wired into its effects loop.
