High-end version of this drum sound?
Hi
I am planning on recording an album, and I'm doing some research - hope someone can help me.
;)
As you can hear, this is not high-end sound, but the feel of this sound suits perfectly on the songs. Can anyone suggest a high-end version of this drum "power" sound? ANY suggestions are welcome!
Thanks
smoke
regards
Pilu from Greenland

HELP putting together high-end sound system
Hello,
I am in a bit of a bind and hoping I can get some help here. I am in charge of putting together a near-professional level show choir that will tour regularly. I was given two days to come up with a proposed budget (which I must present tomorrow morning). I have spoken to a number of audio retailers, but no one is able to get me a quote in time.

Harsh high-end from compression?
I'm just wondering if anyone else has come across this or can explain to me why I am noticing this. I am mixing a pop country song. I have compressor plugs all over the place like on individual drums, drum buses, vocals, bass, etc. I also have compression at the main stereo bus and then a limiter also.

1/4" interconnect cables...high-end vs. . low end (price)
I was just looking at picking up some new 1/4" cables to connect stuff in my home studio. Basically, need them to connect preamps to compressors, compressors to the soundcard inputs, nothing fancy. Probably looking at buying about 10 or so for now, probably about 3' to 6' in length. My question is this...
drums hurt high-end mics?
I've got some U87s and planning to buy a couple of DPA 4006s (with Brent Averill 1272 and soon a two-channel Grace). I want to be able to record solos or duos classical and jazz etc so for that like the warmth and clarity this set-up offers. However, I want to be versatile and for bread and butter need to expand into pop, jingles, whatever comes my way.
