Hi there, this is my first post. I am building a new studio. Baiscally I'm lucky to have a spare house untill May.

In this house there is a large bedroom and a small boxy type room. I am looking to turn the large room into a recording room and I don't know about the box room yet.

I am looking to start up my own little studio in my home, vocals, guitar, bass and drums perhaps a little down the road.
I would like a midi port for keyboard.
I have looked into a bunch of interfaces, the mbox 2, Tascam 1641, the Tascam 1082 and the firebox.
I cannot nail it down to a single one.

Here's something we are challenged with, but first, some background:

Three of us have been saving up our $, we presently have around $10000 and growing, to invest in some recording gear to start a home studio setup. The studio location will be in one of our homes, in balmy, Saskatchewan, Canada.

What is the best route, gear wise, for creating a home studio? What gear will I need? I recently built a computer and was wondering if I should do computer based recording. Any gear or tips are welcomed, thanks.

I am about to purchase a pair of monitors mainly for ensuring my home studio mixes sound good.

Im lookin to upgrade my home studio. Right now i have a Yamaha DGX 88 key keyboard. Laptop that don't have enoghu memory just enough to run Reason 3.0, Tascam us 122 some mics and samson speakers. I want to get a Mac laptop just for recording (no internet using), reason 4, zoom hd16CD. Now will this zoom hd16 allow me to record music from the interface directly to my Mac?
