Okay. Now I know a lot of you will point a finger and say, "Hasn't this topic been covered ad nauseam?" Well, yes...and no.

There are specific questions that have yet to be answered. Most of the responses, thus far, have been more opinion as to "preference", not whether or not one Mac could perform the needed operations without a hitch.

Monitoring with built in iMac speakers?

Submitted by Joseph on Mon, 02/11/2002 - 08:16

We can land a man on the Moon but is it possible to monitor my playback through the speakers on my iMac? I'm using a MOTU 828 with AudioDesk on an iMac 600. Guaranteed good karma will come your way if you help me out here.
Ideally I know I should get a pair of active monitors- just not prepared to lay down that much cash just yet.

Card reader interface into iMac

My son is thinking of buying a combined digital I/O and A/D device so he can do some serious home recording with an iMac. One product he likes has a memory card interface identical to those that are used with digital cameras. The product is made to be used with Powerbooks that have built-in card readers, and the actual output is a card on the end of a cable.

Direct Input Guitar - iMac - suggestions?

hello, I have written music for awhile in the pop/rock format and would like to finally record them all and be done with them so to speak. I was hoping there was some way to record all the guitar and bass tracks to all the songs ( around 100 songs ) through direct input and then allow my voice to get stronger over the next year or so before doing the vocals.

In a hole with an iMac?

Hey y'all-I just bought an iMac SE. It has no PCI slot. It seems that USB interfaces are just not the way to go (latency, crashes etc.) Therefore, it appears my only options are to either use an iMic (cool little device check out Griffin Technology)or the MOTU 828 Firwire. Is this true? Am I missing something here? It seems that the MOTU 828 is not compatible with PT.
