Even if you just use the stock plugins, the realtime printing and monitoring facilities seem quite useful. Thought this was interested. Sure Chris is gonna be excited... Not. Lol.

So I'm trying to set up an all in one home studio/workstation. I am wondering what device I need for my situation, be it a DAC (Digital Audio Converter) or a ADC (Audio Digital Converter) or an Audio Interface.

I'm thinking of a couple of different methods for recording. To start, most of the recording will be location so I'm interested in portability. The recordings will be quiet source classical ensembles, with some jazz/blues/small rock clubs too.

I currently own a Scarlett 18i20 and am using my iPad or faders on a Novation SL MKII to control Ableton Live and [="http://www.apple.com/logicstudio Logic[/]="http://www.apple.co… Logic[/]. I'd love more control over the faders and more general DAW control from my hardware.

Are there any audio interfaces (preferably firewire), that have built-in delay?
I've yet to see one (although many have other built-in effects).
It would need to have hardware routing (not much point in built-in delay, just for recording).
I have a setup that requires sending a delayed signal and we've been doing it with Reaper (software routing and delay).

My PCI interface on my trusty M-Audio Delta 44 is getting deprecated, so it is about time to invest in a new interface.

Firewire is going away soon, and Thunderbolt is too expensive, so USB it is. I am using a Windows 7 PC and Cubase 5.

The audio playing back from my Tascam US-122L audio interface is currently cutting out the left signal. It records tracks fine but the playback is affected. I know its not the headphones. Is it possible that playing audio that clips could've damaged it? Or is it just old(5yrs or so)?
