Hy. I was watching a Dr. Dre interview from '97 and at 20:00 he's talking about record business. And i got a few questions:
1.Usualy who owns the masters ?
Owning the masters means you get all the money from sells, internet ...
2.How much a point worth ?
3. When artists they're supposed to be paid?
4. How they're supposed to get paid ?

I wasn't sure where to put this, so here it is! I want to record an "interview" with my father. He was involved with the Hungarian Revolution, and I want would like to get a good recording of his experience.

Hi . . looking for some easy to digest advice here.

I'm working with a bunch of fellow sports fans to produce a monthly DVD of game highlights mixed with interviews, fun features, etc. We have plenty of consumer level digital cameras, all of which do a perfectly decent job for us but we are struggling on sound . . in particular when recording on the spot interviews with fans.

Before I run out and buy the wrong equipment, maybe you can point me in the right direction . . .

I know absolutley nothing about recording, but I would like to start interviewing family members to begin an oral history project. I would like a microphone and recording device that would give nice sound like I hear on NPR interviews.

I have just been offered to interview for an intership at a recording studio. They do voice overs and commercials and whatnot. My question is, (to those of you that own studios or have gotten interships) What will they be looking for in this interview. What additional /specific info should i include in my resume?
