KRK monitor sale. .

I've been mixong off $150 headphones for a while now because of how tight money's been. I really really need a set of monitors that are actually gonna be beneficial to my mixing, not just a $100 pair of m-audio's or something.

Musician's friend has a sale right now on the Rokit line of KRK monitors.

The RP-5 is 99.99 (was 149.99) each..so a pair would cost me $200. .

KRK VXT4

I went to Guitar Center today with a CD of stuff I'm fairly familiar with and I tried out every monitor they had hooked up. I liked the Yamaha hs80m's, the bx8a's, the krk rp8's, and the krk vxt's(these were best). I liked all of the vxt's, but the 4's seem best suited to my needs considering the scale of what I'm doing. I've started to look around on ebay for a pair.

Weird noise coming from KRK Rokit 6 Something Loose?

So I just finished my studio hooked everything back up and tried tracking my mesa single rectifier and 4x12 (miked one speaker) Anyways anytime the track got a little bass heavy my left speaker sounded like something was fluttering inside. I hit the roll off switch on my pre and it took it away for last nite but I think something's wrong because it was only the one speaker not both.

Reliability and sound: KRK RP5 vs M-Audio BX5, other cheapos

Hi everyone,

I was basically all set to go for the KRK RP5s, which to me sound quite similar to the M-Audio BX5s, but:

The guy at GC, who seemed to be well enough informed told me that the RP5s are returned almost weekly after blowing out. Can anyone fill me in on the reliability of low priced monitors?
