and record using Audacity.
I monitor via a mobilePre USB.

I *don't* have Audacity play back the track I'm recording.

I just buy emu0404 usb ..and when i change different asio ato emu asio ..i see the latency input become 11,... and output 13,...it set at 10m/s at emu asio ..when i set to 8m/s my cpu usage at DAW become unstable when i use addictive drum ..

i have been recording my own stuff, using Audacity, for a couple years now, generally with great ease and yielding impressive results. after recently getting our computer cleaned of some viruses and the operating system reinstalled, i've been having problems with latency.

How do you get the latency down enough with this card, with my audiophile 2496 PCI card I get down to 2ms, but with the lowest settings on the fireone I only get 13ms.. this is the values I get in cubase..

I thought I would easily get down to at least 2ms. don't think this is normal.. something I'm missing?

(pc: intel 3.16ghz core 2 duo, 4gb ram.)

I have just change my converters from a Tascams 1884 to and Aurora 8(with PT card) through a Digi HD1 Core PCI running from a magma 4 slot PCI to PcI e. I recorded flawlessly on my 1884 with out any latency at all. my chain being a simple one, mic preamp-Tascam-daw-Tascam.

I have audition 3.0 and don't really know much about how to use it. I have this problem where there is always a 50 ms latency. In Audacity there was this auto correct thing that fixed that, the problem is, in Audition, everything is set up with samples and such which I have no idea what that is.

recording source in>dav bg1 pre-amp>(soon to be LynX l22, or similar) into logic 8 then lynx22>m-patch passive volume controls>monitors and headphones.

Hi. I'm new here and firstly apologies if I am posting under the wrong forum. I am looking for professional advice on achieving 'zero' latency in a DAW based recording solution by integrating a desk.

I've been dealing with this problem for nearly two years and I'm finally reaching out for help. My drum tracks are sounding out of time no matter how precise I play so I recorded myself tapping along to Adobe Audition's metronome and upon playback I discovered that the tapping is out of sync with the metronome to varying degrees as playback progresses.
