Recording musicians - Check out the StudioLive Console

It's possible that you've found this thread because you are a musician, wanting to learn how to record yourself or a band. You are on a budget, you don't fully understand things like converters, preamps, interfacing, compressors etc... and maybe you don't even care about those things right now.

Tracking live drums

Decided to finally utilize my Mackie board for recording, so spent the day tuning and Micing drums. I am sticking with a basic 4 mic setup (kick, snare, ohL,ohR), but am also close Micing the toms to mix them with the OH's. The OH's will be basically the room sound, natural reverb. Setup is this: Kick: Audio- Technica MB series; Snare: GLS Audio 57 copy mic.

live gig cover

hi guys and gals,
I recorded my friends 3 piece band and had a go at mixing a few songs .
Thought Id post one here to get some feedback,
I think Ive I need to hi pass higher up on the delay, reverb next time .after a re listen it sounds a a bit too dark to me.
I used 2 nt5 ohs, plate kick drum mic, and DI bass and DI acoustic guitar as well as s vocal mics.

Problem sending midi notes to external hardware in Ableton Live 9 Suite

I want to use Ableton Live 9 Suite to play some background tracks while performing live.
One track is configured to send midi notes to an external drum machine. This drum machine have a built in bass line that plays through a bass amp. I'm just interested in the bass line, which is triggered on channel 8 of Ableton (and other sequencers).

Live recording, mixed at home

Here's something I'm working on for fun. I'm pretty happy with where the mix is going but certainly open to critique. Used an XLR split from the house mics plus a few mics of my own to my GB2R/HD24 setup.

Mixed and mastered at home on my 5.1 system, though mostly in 2.1 mode.

(Beware the F-bomb at the start if you're at work or whatever.)
