Hi to all I would like to subcribe to an interesting recording Magazine for reading in my boring times, is there any out there that you like or can suggest, thanks.

I am in need of some advice. My brother is just finishing building his home recording studio. He is very talented and for Christmas I would like to get him a magazine subscription to keep him on top of the latest news, sounds, tips, ideas, and encouragement for those in the recording business.

Though often one long advertisement for gear, this month's issue contained a fantastic discussion of phase issues inherent to recording drums with overheads. The author (can't remember who) gives a detailed example of a great way to fix problems. I jumped right to my DAW and followed his instructions on some recent drums tracks I recorded.

I don't know if anyone has seen the latest issue of EQ Magazine, but Massive Mastering has the back page, "Room with a VU". I thought it was pretty cool that a guy that gives so much of his time and knowledge to this forum gets some pretty cool press.

I've been recording for about 3 years. For a long time it was more of a hobby, just recording into a standalone Akai DPS16 console. But this past summer I got a Digi 002 and it opened up a whole new world to me. I have been doing a lot more recording and have even had clients in.

What's a good magazine for producers/composers/engineers?
I get "Recording" right now, but I feel like I already know everything they talk about in the articles. I make mainly electronica, pop and pop/rock, so can you recommend me a good pro magazine?

I would like to draw attention to a great article on Bill Putnam in Mix this month. You can read it free on the net. If you haven't fully aquainted yourself with the gentleman, I highly suggest you do so now. To merely say he was a major force in shaping current recording technology is to ignore his huge contributions behind the board.
