I have the opportunity to buy a used masterlink for $350.00. I have no idea what these things are going for now days, but I thought it would be a nice addition to my mobile rig, just to have a 2 track backup of a recording session.

Is this worth it? Is he asking too much?

I have been recording in a Boss BR900CD and it records in 24 bit. I've done 2 tracks for a friend of mine and she is going to put them on her forthcoming debut album. Obviously I'm relatively new to recording.

My church has a small studio where we go from a Mackie D8B into a Alesis Masterlink. The question I have is what is a good stereo compressor/ limiting amp to go thru? There is a pretty good budget so we don't want to skimp on this.

I need to make some cables to connect my Masterlink to my Soundcraft Ghost. And I don't know if I need 1/4" TRS or 1/4" TS.
The Masterlink is XLR and the Ghost is 1/4".
There are 2 or 3 sets of 1/4" jacks on the Ghost that I can use to send to the Masterlink, but which is best?

This is pretty cool since I have eliminated a bunch of software including Wavelab and Ozone (as well as my computer at this time) from my studio.

One can save a song list as a 24 bit AIF file on the masterlink (CD24 option) then open it up on their pc/apple in Itunes.

Does any one out there use this gear. Here is my setup. Masterlink to Finalizer via Mackie digital 8 bus to MOTU 2408 to g4 to mbox.

We were doing a recording session when mains power was suddenly shut off by
accident. This was a live gig and a previous track of 12 hours was recorded, as
well as a new track which had about 20 or so hours accumulated when power
failed.

I am a new user with the Alesis Masterlink, and need some help understanding how to get to ( and change as needed ) the
" Gain" settings on the Masterlink. Why? Well, whatever I record on my Yamaha Pro 9000 Keyboard to the Masterlink ( then making a CD ), is so low in volume that it is almost impossible to hear on any other system.

hello every one . i was wondering is it possible to take a stereo track out of a computer thru MOTU 828 mk2 to the dbx DDP and thru the finalizer 96k and to the masterlink without it sounding all messed up or getting some kind of digital flanging or will it be ok and sound good ...sorry if its a stupid question and thanks for your time ...max
