Can anyone recommend a really good set of studio monitors for me.I have been using Tascam mercury golds for around 15 years and Im sure there must be something better out there now?
Only problem is I only have around £250/390 dollars budget.
Any suggestions please?

Hey guys. I'm new here. I have just started with video editing, but I also am getting into some music creation. So, I need these to have a semi-wide range of uses. My budget is $500 for a pair, and I need them to be Active powered. I really have no preferences, because I am new to this stuff, and I don't really know much about it.

I have two Behringer Truth 2031A

I have them ear height.

How far apart should they be?

I have a Sears (yeah I know) LXI series stereo (from yesteryear).

Can I hook it up to my active monitors?

They are BehgE*Yspo87w3y Truth 2031A's.

I hooked up the rca stereo out into the 1/4 inch.

I was wondering what cables i should use to hook up the studio monitors to the Apogee Duet... Balanced or Unbalanced?

The duet has unbalanced TRS outputs and the studio monitors have balanced TRS inputs and balanced XLR inputs.

Does it even matter or can it "HURT" anything?

I need to get some monitors for my little recording setup. I have heard that Yamaha's NS 10's are the way to go as far as reference monitors. Are there any that are better that are cheaper. i do not want to spend over $150 and with the ns 10's i would need to get an amp too.

Just bought myself Rokit 5 (powered) monitors to use on my laptop and plugged them into my mixer via XLR (from Rokit) to quarter inch cables TRS into the Main output of my mixer. I have the Behringer 1202 mixer

Ok I've looked and I haven't seen a thread for this but if there is please redirect me. I am currently using a pair of Shure Critical Listening Headphones to do ALL of my mixing, recording etc etc etc...
