AT 4040 vs. . MXL V6

I've heard good comments about both, and they are the same price. My application would be mainly drum overheads, but also vocals, acoustic guitar, and guitar cabs. Probably gonna be a stereo pair.

The 4040 is desireable in terms of AT's reputation for overall quality, but I've heard that the V6 has a relly graet "vibe" going on.

Comments?

MXL 603S vs. . ADK SC-1 vs. . ADK SC-2

Hello.

I have a pair of Neumann KM84i's. They are marvellous ofcourse, but I need another pair. Imagine this, I'm recording a grand piano in a church. I'd try the KM84i's in the piano, and this other pair for the ambience. If I feel like it, I might try the other pair (that is possibly a bit brighter) for the piano, and KM84i's for the ambience.

MXL 990 >> Behringer Mic200 + 2 days = Hiss ?

Hey..i'm TOTALLY new to the recording stuff neither did i have a lot of money. So I got the least expensive stuff i could find. I got a MXL 990, Some LiveX XLR cable (5ft), & a Behringer Mic200. I plug that into my Home PC with a standard Sound Card. Anyway, when I started out it sounded great. Ofcourse, since they are really cheap so there was this hiss.
