I am big fan of Rupert Neves stuff, and the Portico Series 5014 widener did not disappoint. Great attention to detail in this box!
The unit had a bad cap in the switchmode power supply filter.
Hadn't written anything for while, but the pause came to an end today. Wrote this song quite quickly - sometimes breaks are good to clear the mind. Feedback most welcome:

Use your stealth, find a victim
Cheat into their inner sanctum
For you to rise, others must fall
First through the slime, you must crawl
But I won’t be fooled
No, never again
The Neve 1073 pre/eq and the Focusrite isa 2 with the trident 80b 500 series eq, both have my interest. They are similarly priced, with the isa/80b being a stereo setup, Neve would be mono.
I borrowed a Portico 5012. intend to use it on el-bass, but it has no jack hi-z in. So, what is the best way to connect the bass to it... I have a BSS-133. could it be used, and how would the setup be to tje UA apollo interfave. A mic or line signal?
The authentic Neve preamp sound – captured as a plugin featuring Unison™ technology.
The Neve 1073 Channel Amplifier is easily the most revered preamp and EQ circuit ever designed. Introduced in 1970, this hallowed class-A, transistor mic/line amp with EQ epitomizes the beautiful "Neve sound," with unparalleled clarity, sheen, and bite.
A few years old, but a very cool interview all the same.
The subject of this very short interview is centered around the 1973 Neve 8028 console that he purchased from Sound City, when the famous studio finally shut the lights off for good in 2011.
An interesting view of one of the major players - and game changers - in our craft.
Will be great to know what everyone of you think about analog console and if some one of you have ever tried this console.
Thanx for supporting us.
