how to reverse phase within a mic cable?
I am trying to cause a phase flip within a mic cable, i know it can be done I just dont know how to do it. if you can give me any ideas. or know of any alternatives (like a literal plugin , like the earthworks kick pad, that can flip phase as an incoming signal)

Phase Considerations
The more I learn about recording, the more I realize that phase considerations are a make or break point.
I have several questions about phase, all general, independent of specific setups.

Reverse Phase. How to? Please help!
I like to mic the bottum of the snare and the backside of the kick drum. I hear people on this site referring to "reverse phase" when Micing things like this. I use Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro (I have a home studio) and I can't find anything that refers to reversing the phase.

MS / spaced omni and phase cancellation technique
Hi,
I'm working on a holiday Cd with my choirs right now and hope to start recording in 3-4 weeks. I've been happy with using spaced omnis in the fair/poor room I record in and am beginning to experiment with MS to see if that technique will provide better results in the space.
my voice sounds like theres a phaser on it
hey all
i have a small start up home studio. i have a Marshall 990, a Rolls rp 220 preamp, and a vs 1880. when i record vocals, it sounds like theres a phaser on my voice. any ideas what this could be? do i need to flip the phase switch on my preamp? i dont have any effects on my vox when i record or listen back.

Phase Issue?
A friend of mine brought over some recorded tracks of guitar work that needed some limiting via my Manely Vari Mu,,no problem,,I thought--right?
AS I listened to the tracks,I noticed that the over all sound of the lead guitar tracks sounded nasal,,so I asked him how he went about recording the tracks,,keeping in mind that the tracks souned good, but, had a nasal issue.

Phase Correction.
Hello all,
I recently read (don’t ask where) that if you invert the polarity of an XLR cable, this will help in correcting phase issues. Is this true? If it is, how would I go about performing this procedure, though I am a little reluctant to start cutting up one of my cables.
Also, is the phase invert option in my DAW (Sonar 4 PE) accurate?
Thanks.

HM-1 and Phase
Has anyone noticed if their HM-1's are out of phase? Mine certainly are. I had one up on a cab with a 57 (I believe), and waBLAMO insta phase prob. Both mics up on the grill. First I thought maybe the mic cable is wired wrong, but nope. It seems the mic itself is wired backwards.
Has anyone else run into this?
