Description

A preamplifier, also known as a preamp, is an electronic amplifier that converts a weak electrical signal into an output signal strong enough to be noise-tolerant and strong enough for further processing, or for sending to a power amplifier and a loudspeaker. Without this, the final signal would be noisy or distorted.

Has anyone here used this? Or does anyone know of where I can listen to an example of it being used.

My dilemma resides in the fact that I live in an apratment building and that using a half-stack or combo amp is pretty much out of the question. I find that great recto sound usually comes out when the amp is turned up pretty loud, and hey, I don't really want to be evicted.
