multi-channel mic preamps...
... as a console replacement for in-the-box-mixing - what do you pros recommend or what pres have you heard about?
preferably at least 8 channels, quality before bargain!
i have the impression the market is lacking such devices in proportion to the number of DAW-users.
or am i just badly informed?

ART - Digital MPA Tube Microphone Preamp
I am looking to add another 2 inputs to my Tascam FW-1884 and wanted something that would warm up my vocals and maybe even my guitar tone with an SM-57. I found this on Sam Ash and can hook the sp/dif up to my Tascam I believe. What do you guys think of this particular unit?

ONYX PreAmps.
This may come as a subjective question to some but I'm looking for some opinions. using the at4050 mic and the preamps in the onyx1640 do you think i should still use a good preamp? As well as with my keyboards? I doubt i need to run my mpc through a preamp? Advice is well taken!

Preamps
Hi Guys,
I've been reading and searching topics on preamps and the use of them.
I want to record some Guitars and Vocals through my Audigy 4 but want to know if a mic preamp can also be used as a guitar preamp?
I have plugged my guitar straight in the Line2/Mic input and it seems to record pretty damn well! Do I really NEED a preamp?

Mic/Line preamp -- advice requested
I've decided to get a small, budget Mic/Line pre-amp to connect to my Audiophile 2496. I'm currently considering 2 candidates:
- Behringer Tube Mic 200
- M-Audio Audio Buddy
Seems they have approximately the same specs, except that the Behringer has a tube whereas the Audio Buddy is solid state.
Opinions? Experiences?
Thanks :D

Changing my preamp's tubes
Ok, so I've got some old PreSonus Blue Tube mic preamp's that have been collecting dust. Let me first say this, I personally don't think the Blue Tubes are as "terriable" of mic preamp's as everyone makes them out to be. True, they are on the low end of the spectrum, but they do add gain and a level of warmth.

Preamps (for mic's and synth's etc.)
Hello..
Now that i just purchased my FW 1804 I thought to my self that the sounds I'm getting could be better. ( this could be because i was listening to how good the guitars and vocals sound on the JOHN MAYER track) I know this could have been done by mastering ..

RCA console preamps
The RCA BC-2b was famous for cool sounding pre's.
I have access to an rca bc-7a - their transistor follow on to that console. Does anyone know anything about it? How did it sound? I'm thinking the preamps might be very high quality? Thanks for any input.
