Hi all: This is my first posting on this forum.
I've got an unexpected couple hundred bucks to spend on a new piece of gear. I can't decide--Joemeek MC3Q (mic preamp, compressor, eq) or Midiman audiophile 24/96 (soundcard).
Here's what I've already got:
Heya,
Newb here.
OK i got a Mackie 1202vlz. I've been looking at
Allen Heath MX14:4:2. I don't have any outboard
pres so.
Are the XDR's on the MAckie that good-I hate going direct out unbalanced.
So are Allen Heath pre good?
Opinions please
TIA

hello everyone,
does anyone know if this altec preamp/mixer rack unit is any good? I found two in a pawn shop and i dont know if they are worth it for 150 bucks each... if anyone knows i'd appreciate your opinion!
thanks
Hello, I'm attempting to purchase some good mic preamps. I just got a Pendulum audio dual pre and am looking for a couple of less expensive pres to complement the Pendulum and get a Beatleish sound. Lately I've seen some Altec and Ampex tube mic preamps on Ebay going for a few hundred. Has anyone used these or are there other vintage pres in this price range that are decent. Thanks, Don
Any suggestions?
I have a studioprojects c1-mic running into spirit f1 mixer and terratec-soundcard.
I live far away from everything so I'm able to test-run only the major brands like dbx and focusrite. Do they they any good in this range?
I've red some good things about joemeek twinQCS and spl goldmike. Any comments on these?
thanks.
Just ordered an MP-2NV preamp from Mercenary to compare to the Avalon 737. Anyone using it and liking it? What are you using it for? Any suggestions on mics for male vocals for this preamp? It is based on the Neve 1073.
Thanks
Allen :w:
anyone got info on these? seem interesting, but would like to know any strength/weaknesses...I did search around and could not find much useful info, if any...
Are they any good? If they are better than the pre's on my Yamaha O1V I'm considering buying them. I know The DigiMAXes are 24 bit, and the O1V are 20 bit, but something tells me that does not necessarely mean they're better...
