My Firepod sounds like a Geiger counter!

I have owned my Firepod for around 15 months and recently it has started to make some strange clicking sounds. These do not come out in the recording except if being picked up by a mic and it seems to work fine although there is a clicking sound coming from the unit that sounds as I wrote in the subject line like a Geiger counter when coming close to a radiation source (as in the movies!).

Mic > Firepod+Amp

Forums

Would seem fairly simple. For recording live scratch tracks I have two room mics flown and connecting to channels 1+2 of my FP10 (Christmas prez from Sis - Yay!). Two guitars also miced in. Handheld condenser (vocals) runs to a Carvin powered mixer devoid of channel inserts. How do I get this mic also to the Firepod to record a vocal overlay?

firepod or saffire pro10

iv been looking into 8ch preamps to replace my 2ch mbox2 and i first came across the firepod, which seems perfect for me, but recently i discovered the saffire pro10 by focusrite. the firepod is 100euro cheaper but iv heard the Focusrite preamps are better quality. can anyone compare the two for me maybe of give me some insight on the saffire pro?

Connecting a keyboard to Reason via firepod

OK, so, I have macbook, a firepod, a Yamaha P-140 stage piano, and reason 3.0. My goal is to use the keyboard in reason by running a midi cable from the midi out on the piano to the midi in on the firepod. For some reason, this is not working. Does anyone have any experience hooking up midi devices to Reason? Or using the midi input on the firepod?
