Okay, total newbie question here regarding my fresh outta the box Firepod.
Do I install the firmware update with the Firepod connected or disconnected to my G5? Does it matter?
The manual states: [chapter 2.2]

Ok, I have sold my KORG 32xd and am going to make the Leap to Computer-based recording. I am looking at the firepod (cause its relatively cheap) for my interface. I have an ISA 428. So then:
May be a dull, dumb question but I have to ask it none the less. Just bought a firepod to enable me to do mobile recordings and record practices and rehearsals with it connected to my laptop.
Has anyone been succesful syncing 3 Firepods together.I get them to sync for about 6 minutes then they unlock.PreSonus has been trying to be helpful but no luck.I just bought a new laptop thinking that may be the problem but it does the same thing as on my old laptop.Any help will be appreciated.

We are migrating Cubase SX 3 projects (and all audio) from an older PC to a new Quad-core G5 with 2 PreSonus Firepods, and of course the latest Mac version of Cubase SX 3.
FIRST PROBLEM:
Cubase SX 3 crashes when trying to use BOTH Firepods that are connected and setup (as an Aggregrate Device) in Audio/Midi Setup.

I am a relative beginner. I am planning on setting up a mobile recording studio. I want to be able to take my gear to customer and get a good live recording. the plan is to record the band live and overdub the vocals. this will be for demo's only. once i have a stationary studio space i can overdub everyone to scratch track.

i just got a PreSonus Firepod as my first step toward a digital recording setup. i don't have a whole lot of prior knowledge or experience with recording other than what i've gathered from being in a band and a semester of Telecommunications classes.
