I've been working on a project and one problem that I continually come across is digital distortion. I'm running Pro Tools 7.3 and I'm using a Shure 57 and and RODE Nt -1a for recording vocals and guitar. Regardless of what mic I use for recording a tube amp electric guitar I seem to get some digital clipping.

Has anyone ever used this?

Hi, I was wondering, what's the difference between the Pro Tools HD system and the MOTU HD system, assuming were lloking at the 192 interfaces, why is MOTU su much cheaper, are the converters in the Pro Tools interface better, is the Pro Tools system better at signal processing? What's the deal?

or do i need to get one of their boxes?

i ask because i use digital performer right now, and i like it, but i want to use "beat detective" since from what i hear and read, its the best sounding quantizer for actual drum tracks. so i obviously don't want to switch from my two MOTU boxes and dp software to go to pro tools, just for beat detective.

I'm using Pro Tools LE and generally it works well, but a weird problem is the clicktracks. Sometimes they work OK but often they go completey haywire - being completely uneven.
Very frustrating!
Any suggestions?

hello all. Im about to build a new studio and I'm not sure if i should go pc or mac. I'm just looking for advice on how to set up recording for a drum kit through the Digi 003 rack. I've only ever recorded two tracks at once through the Digi 003 so need a bit of advice about recording a whole kit.

I am very new to Pro Tools as of yesterday. I am running Pro Tools LE 7.4 on a new laptop. I am looking for someone that would kindly list out some External Harddtives that I can make a choice from for Recording and Playing Back Audio. I am using a Digidesign 003 Rack Factory. I know that I need 7200 RPM with an NTFS file system for Vista Ultimate.
