I'm currently using nuendo and the dm 24. however I'm opening a studio to the public and would like to buy a new set up. I'm looking to get pro tools 003 and the new Tascam dm 4800. the problem I'm having is that the new Tascam has a great firewire hook up that does 32 i/o and it seems that Pro Tools won't work with this board.

I'm looking at this is this good will it give me better quality? if not what are some suggestions

I have an Evolution MK449-C Midi keyboard. It has 8 knobs and 9 sliders. Is it possible to use those "extra features" of the board to control panning or faders?

If so how do you do that?

My guess is that I can't.

Does it lack a lot of functions from the original version? I know it does not support some plugins that i have to pay for anyway if i want them. But I can save about a 100$ on that. I am a student so i qualify. thank you

Hi everybody. right now I'm running Pro Tools m-powered 7.3 on my intel macbook. I want to buy a USB external hard drive with 7200rpm to increase recording performance and the number of tracks i can record. It says on Digidesign website that PT does not support recording onto an external HD (Digidesign says a lot of stuff though).

I keep gettng the error ran out of 82 byte tokens then the computer freezes up and I have to manually reboot whenever I use the Mackie control universal going through the MIDISPORT. If I take the midisport out of the chain, no problems. when I use it with Cubase 4, no problems. Im using a PC with windows XP. can anyone help

Okay - so I have a fairly simple question for some of you who would probably slap me for asking such a dumb question...but I don't use PT, so I don't know the answer.

I have client who wants several tracks mixed. They were recorded on PT HD3 and I use Sequoia.
