Need conversion into Protools! What to use?

THE DEAL IS. I have been using an octopre to get into Pro Tools until now through optical lightpipe. The ADAT card fried on the darn thing. Im looking to find the best way to get into Pro Tools through Pro Tools from external preamps. I dont need the device to have preamps in it, I have plenty of nice pres I just need analog line level conversion into ADAT lightpipe.

Pro Tools 8 Sample Rate 48khz playing slow

I've been recording in the studio at 48khz/24 on a mac running Pro Tools 9. I want to do some additional tracks at home on my Sony Viao Windows 7 running Pro Tools 8. I've tried opening the session and it gives me messages about plugins not available, that's ok, but then it is playing slow. So, I tried making a new session at 48khz and importing the files but it's still slow. any ideas?

M-Powered Pro Tools and Project Mix?

This is more of a simple question. Will the M-Audio Project mix act as a dongle for M-Powered Protools. I use Cubase primarily, but if I can have a legitimate copy of Pro-Tools on my system, just to import sessions for/from my clients without having to spend any additional money on hardware I'd be a lot happier.

Personally I would still be using Cubase as my primary DAW.
