I am currently using a mac with Pro Tools LE 5.1. I have become increasingly annoyed with mixing via the mouse. I was looking at the Tascam 428 controller and it seems to be a pretty decent board (24bit with 8 channels and multiple banks). I was wondering if anyone has any experience with controllers and could provide me with a some helpful suggestions.

Anyone got any tips on getting CD quality sound onto my CD's...when I play back the music on Pro Tools it sounds great, but by the time I convert it from WAV to MP3 and burn it onto the CD it sounds really low and muffled... Thanks.

I installed P.T yesterday but keep getting a message saying "unable to create DAE Deck"
I went to Digidesign help page but the file it asked me to remove is not on my computer so that never helped. Has anyone had this problem? And is there a way around it?
For the record I'm using this alongside an MBox which i dont yet have set up. Is this the reason?

just a question, i realize Digidesign has announced their plans to fully support Pro Tools for the g5s soon, but i need a bit of help. i have a dual g5 and a digi 002 rack.

I bought a Pro Tools system (digi 001) about 6 months ago, and now they come out with the IK Multimedia plugin pack included with all Pro Tools systems. Does anyone know if they are giving this out to people who bought their Pro Tools system before august 1st?

Did anyone hear about this? Amplitube LE, Reason adapted, and some other plugins from IK are going to be bundled for free with every PT system. I just bought an 001 like 6 months ago and I'm very upset that I don't have the option to get these. Thoughts?

Hello Everybody.

I'm a new member, but "old" in the recording business. I'm tired of the sound in the filterbank EQ aswell as the Focusrite EQ. (protoolsplugs) I'm thinking of getting either the Oxford EQ or the Massenburg EQ. Does anyone have an opinion or have actually tried them out ?.

I'm looking to reformat my 'ol trusty g4 to a dual boot. so i can have osX and os9. then id like to save all my PT (6.1) files to an external 120gb drive and so i can work with my projects on both 9 and X...is this possible? because i love osX but i have a lot of plugins that only work with 9..thus my problem
any other suggestions would be great
