DP 2.7 and Pro Tools LE

Submitted by anonymous on Mon, 12/31/2001 - 13:08

I have a client who is trying to mix what we've tracked and overdubbed in my studio with DP 2.7 on his PT LE rig at home. I gave him the OMF files and also copies of all the audio files. He has not been able to import them. Is this because he is a moron or is it not possible to import OMF files into Pro Tools LE. Also, do any of you have tips for transfering files to clients with Pro Tools.

OK, the word on the street is that the new 96k Pro Tools with new hardware and improved audio quality throughout the architecture and mix buses will be announced shortly...maybe February 2002. Or maybe I've been in the studio too much and haven't heard the latest.

So, studio owners and engineers, who is interested in this?

Best outbaord compressor to go into pro tools?

Submitted by anonymous on Sun, 12/09/2001 - 17:26

Hi all - I'm in the market to get a REALLY great compressor to track into Pro Tools. Primarily I record vocals and guitar .
I want flexibility in the compressor (ie from transparent to obvious) and also lotsa headroom. In particular something that can handle transients and peaks without 'popping' artifacts..
Money is no object so please cast your votes...thanks! :D
