Mackie 32 8 problem
Hi all ! My Mackie 32 8 has just started playing up recently !
The problem is that on ch13 and ch19 I only have to move the faders a tiny bit and it's "all or nothing". There is no difference in volume between "just off the bottom" and "unity", and only a little difference between "unity" and "full up".
Any one ever had the same problem ?

Problems with Tascam DR-100 & XLR mic. Can't get clean sound. Bad cable maybe?
I'm new to recording so, aside from lacking experience, I lack swappable hardware for troubleshooting my problem, thought maybe somebody here could help.

Shure SM58 response problem
So it seems we have a couple of issues with some of our 58s. They're a couple of years old, and have been used on hundreds of shows. Lately we've had problems getting a good sound out of them and problems with gain before feedback. So I decided to AB them and take some measurements. Here's what I found:

Sonar/ UX1 recording problems
I'm recording guitar tracks into Sonar 8 with a Line 6 UX1 interface. I'm using the podfarm software and it sounds fine until I hit record and I get terrible sound. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Problems getting floor toms to sound "big" in recording
I about to start recording a band in which the drummer has 2 huge floor toms, 16X18 and 18x18. They sound really great in the room, but when they record they sound like someone hitting a bucket with a notebook on top, no resonance and no fundamental. I am using Audix D2 mics on the top on their D-vice clamps about 2 inches up and pointed at the impact point.
problem with recording
I'm recording using an alto am7 placed about an inch from my guitar amp center, the mic is plugged directly into my laptop and I'm using Audacity to record. I'm not expecting brilliant sound but every time I record it starts off fine for about 3-5 seconds then dies out and becomes very quiet and wet sounding.
