Im recording a self hypnosis download and got very good quality with a .wav file but it was too big (177mb) for my server. So I converted it to .mp3. But, the .mp3 file at 41000hz sounds too slow and garbled. I reconverted at 48000 and sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Seems like mp3 work at 44000 hz but that sampling rate isn't supported by mp3 format.

Hey guys, Ive been having some problems with my sey up. I have my equipment set up as follows.

My snake inputs from the live room come into the patchbay(neutrik) TRS (which I changed from XLR) Then I patch it to my Mackie 24/8 then from the mixer's direct out go straight to the audio card.

Anyone know of a cheap/free good quality converter? wav to mp3.

What I am looking for is a method to get decent quality input on voip chats such at ventrillo etc, and have some cheap reverb/chorus effects. The hardware I can make use of for this is a Shure 57, Xfi Xtreme music pci card. Everything else I would like to be able to purchase from a guitar center.

Hi all so I have a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier that I got used off of craigslist and I haven't yet swapped out the tubes. I think that they're between 2-3 years old (they are groove tubes if it matters). I'm going to be recording a new record soon and I'm wondering if it would be better to do a full retube or spend my money on a renting a high quality preamp such as an Avalon 737.

Hi guys, a few months ago I bought an RME Fireface. Problem is: I can't get good sound quality from it. All I'm doing is Micing a single guitar amp, but it comes out quiet and undefined. I was under the impression the Fireface offered studio sound quality, but I guess not. Direct line input is just as bad.
