I'm really praying someone out there understands how to use it. The guys in the shop don't even get it, the manual is just so unhelpful and cryptic. There seems nowhere else to turn to.

I'm looking for the model number
it's from 1976 or earlier
it has 7 pushbuttons on the face
I think it's some sort of noise reduction

I'm ordering custom made 19" case for my preamps,headph amp, sound card,... no power amps.

how deep(profound?) should it be for preamps, and some 'breathing space' for valves? ? (in cm preffered, but inches ok)
they asked me, 40cm enough?

Im looking into building my own effects rack for my studio,and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find the outer rack channels where the effects screw on to :)

here's the scoop. I've been working with PT and a G4 and am completely satisfied w/ the results, but have to use a PC at school for a lab class that I'm teaching. I got a great deal on a rack mount PC, flat screen, and all the bells and whistles that DIGI requires (designated audio hard drive, etc...) for under $1200 but.

The 32 track limit on pro tools le sucks, I know that you cant use pro tools software without Digi hardware but...
-Can i get Logic, Cubase or digital performer to work with the 002 rack?
-Can i get a new software to work with the Digidesign core audio setup?

hey people ive got a digi 002 rack with the command 8 and i dont have a soundcard installed. Now i can only listen to some audio if my digi 002R is turned on and i cant hear video and sound clips.

If i wanted to hear say windows media player would i have to install a seperate sound card? and get new speakers? (if i dont want to turn on my 002r)

I was all set to plunk down my credit card down on a Focusrite Voicemaster Pro . . . but then got to thinking: Adobe Audition (the sequencer I'm using) has a compressor, de-esser, expander, EQ, reverb, and even plugin tube effects in software (all of which can be saved as an "effects rack"), why would I want the VM Pro instead of Audition with a simple (but good) pre and an interface card?

Considering Digidesign 002 + Pro Tools LE 6.4 for windows based system. The difference in price between Digidesign 002 Rack vs Digi 002 non-rack is considerable--about 1200 for rack vs about 2600 for non rack.

I'm new to this. What would be the advantages of one over the other? Thanks.
