Help? Recording Guitar
Forums
Hi Everyone,
This is my first post/question to the forums and I'm excited to be here. I just bought the Ediroal UA-4FX USB Audio Capture (24 bit 96khz). It has one standard 1/4" input and one XLR mic input. In the 1/4", I've plugged in my Mackie DFX-6 Live Sound Mixer (I'm aware its not the best for home recording, but its better than my Behringer Power Amp as a preamp).

Recording guitar/bass/vocals in my room
Forums
Hello all! I'm a guitarist and a songwriting, and have only been really recording my songs on my little tape recorder so I don't forget them. I'd like to set up a system where I could record my guitar/bass/vocal tracks digitally to my computer.
I'm pretty familiar with Audacity, so I'm planning on using that for my mastering software.

recording guitar directly into digi 002R
Forums
hello everyone. I run Pro Tools LE w/ a digi 002 rack on a Mac Pro desktop (Intel). I do a lot of guitar recording but due to a need to keep the noise down (unfortunately) I am forced to record directly into PT. What I do now is run the guitar through a Line 6 Pod XT floor pedal. then run it into a channel on the 002 rack.

Recording Guitar/Bass through mixer
Forums
should I go through my Behringer V-amp2 to get a good unike sound then into my Behringer 502 mixer then into my 0404 sound card. Or, just guitar/bass go clean from mixer to sound card, then do the EQ with plugins on Sony Vegas. Thanks for the help.

Recording Guitar Amp via Amp Speaker
Forums
I'd like commentary on an idea I've had to record a guitar amp with another guitar-tailored speaker (used as a microphone, a la Yamaha's SubKick), and particularly one of the same make, model, and size.
Specifically, it occurs to me that using a 12" Alnico Blue speaker right on top of my Voice AC 15 might be cool for the following reasons:

Recording guitar, vocals and harmonica
Forums
Last night had a friend come by who wanted to "record a song." Well as it turns out it was a 13 minute folky fingerstyle type song. He did a juicy good job, but I had some trouble. I'm used to laying one track down at a time, or multiple mics for something like drums.

Recording Guitar
Forums
I was wondering what your guys opinion on this was. Do you prefer the guitarist to crank up his amp nice and loud or keep it around 3 or 4 when recording? or does it really just depend on the style of music, and/or the amp the guitarist is using. Also are there any other tips that could help inprove the guitar recording?
