We are trying to record our jazz trio inside a small ..13'x19'x9' room.

looking at everything from the front, it's just like a 13x19 stage and if you are on the audience side looking at the stage, here how we are set up in the room:

Grand Piano on the left , Drums in the center, Upright Bass on the right

I haven't been able to find too much information on http://www.cadmics…"]these[/]="http://www.cadmics…"]these[/], other than through the CAD site itself. Anyone with first-hand experience or strong opinions on CAD stuff in general?

some of you may have have seen my posts regarding this on other forums... i have been looking for an optimal solution for quite some time and got some (i think) very useful input, but think theres a better solution out there.

HI everyone, I need some advice on how to mic a string trio. The condenser mics I have are the following:

2 AT4033
1 KSM44
2 C1000's (forget about using these. .)

how should I place the mics and how should I place the musicians as well. this is the first time I'm recording strings.

Here's the setup:

Schoeps CMC6/MK4 (2) in near coincident, 25 cm, 70 degrees
11' high, 14' liear to piano
violin anc cello 4' in front of piano

I have a jazz trio session coming up and was wanting a few tips on positioning within the room. They want to be in the same room with each other. It will be a piano (stienway upright), up right bass, and jazz drums ( K,S,H,T,FT,crash, ride). Vocals we will overdub. My tracking room is 25' X 30' with a 17' X 12' hardwood floor in the middle. No parallel walls, 14' ceiling.

I will be recording a friend at school who has a jazz trio (piano, drums, bass) in our preformance hass, which is a rather "live", but good sounding room.

The equiptment I will have access to is as follows:

I'm going to start mixing a project next week where it's guitar, bass, vocals and drums. Out of 11 songs only 3 have doubled guitar tracks. How should I approach panning on the other 8 songs? I could do it Van-Halen style with guitar on the left and 'verb on the right but I don't really like that idea.
