I have a sure sm58 and a c4000B AKG.
The problem is I like the sure sm58 for listening to myself talk all day. rap music and chorus singing.

So I want a mic like the sm58 thats good for recording talking and vocals and like performance situations.

I am recording vocals on jurneys, outside of home, for several reasons, so I need it to record to portable device. I was using iPod, but it's terrible recorder.

Anyone out there advise the best way to make a hole for Female vocals in a mix with Guitars, and Piano being the other main mid range instruments that will clash. What is the best way of doing this and if cutting on the other instruments, what frequency and by how much..

So I bought a 200 dollar mic, forgot the brand at the moment and an interface which I forgot too. It's something 8 something fx. But when I'm not recording, I can hear the voice through the speakers and it sounds amazing clear and everything but when I record or have the computer set up to rcord, there's aa static in the background and there's a delay... Same when I hook up guitar.

I need to record vocals with OK quality for a few songs using Cubase.
I don't have a pro home studio. I just need to know if it's a reasonable microphone to start with.

I sing in an Acapella group (4 guys) - NarrowWay. We are recording with an amateur friend but has a decent home studio. We are working on our second CD. I do all the editing. The biggest problem we face is that when trying to edit the individual tracks, sometimes there is so much bleed over from the other singers, its nearly impossible to edit!
