Recording Raspy- Lemmy-like vocals

Forums

Ok. I'm fairfly new to recording. Obviously I already know about angling, vocal presecnce, water, the good preamps I need, and eliminating pop and rumble. I'm using either an Electro-Voice Large Diaphragm condenser, or a Shure SM57 to record vocals.

What would you guys recommend to do as far as recording raspy, lemmy-like vocals?

Recording and mixing Thrash Vocals

Forums

We are trying to record vocals and would like them to sound like: kill'em all - AJFA, Killing is my Business - Rust in peace.

I am mostly interested in techniques, and how to make vocals sit in the mix, some typical approaches for this style etc. I know that they probably doubled them, used some delay, reverb, possibly some flanger phaser chorus... who knows... So please help.

Recording piano and vocals - help!

Forums

I'm a piano teacher and composer and am exploring the options of investing in some technology to record both my own compositions and my piano lessons.

I've got my eye on a super bit of mixing kit but am completely stumped as to the best way of setting up mics so that they pick up both the piano and myself and the student's voices. I don't even know which mics would be the best.

Need help recording vocals in stereo! :)

Forums

I'm brand new to this, and have just bought a PreSonus 1394 Preamp, which I control via a window on my computer. So far, when I plugin my mic to try vocal recordings, it's recording one-sided... as in, right headphone records from the right mic input, left from the left. I'm sure I don't have to have two mics to get a stereo recording, right? :)
