Online I found a second hand Audient Mico Mic pre-amp for sale. I already have the Drawmer 231 Compressor/limiter and the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen.
I have the Drawmer for a few month now, but haven't used it much yet. Would it be a nice combo to get my mic signal into the Audient Mico - Drawmer 231 - Focusrite Scarlett 18i20, and apply some mild compression before going into the DAW. I know I have plenty of compression options in my two DAW's, but sometimes I have the feeling some anoloque processing is nice for the sound too.
Using Scarlett Mix Control, am I able to map the first two inputs of an 18i20 to output as STEREO for the monitor and analog outputs 1-8?
I am attempting to create an alternate monitor path for a Digidesign/Avid 003 Factory console. The 003 has two 1/4" jacks for the Alternate CR path, I am hoping to use two 1/4" TRS cables to the Scarlett so it will playback to 5 amps connected to passive speakers.
Signal Flow would look like this:
Dear Recording.org Community,
I'd like to get the input of someone who has used Scarlett Mix Control on a 2nd Gen. Scarlett 18i20 to create monitor paths with the various analog outputs.
Me: I'm running Logic Pro X, I've been using Garage band and I just upgraded. I have 2 issues out the gate that I cannot seem to get around. My Focusrite Scarlet 2i4 is reading my SM57 when it's plugged in but it's not outputting on Logic. I can see in my logic that it's picking up the signal and in the interface that it's picking up, but I cannot hear what's going in. The S, R, and the I are all clicked, The output is set to scarlet 24i and the input is too in the logic audio preferences.
I have a Scarlett Focusrite Solo and it works great for plugging in my electric guitar. I just bought a Samson C01 Studio Condenser Mic with an XLR cable. When I plug in the cable and press the 48V button for phantom power, nothing happens. I turn the gain button and unlike the jack/guitar input it doesn't turn green. Also, the Samson C01 should have a blue light burning but it is just not connecting. I am really at loss here about what is going wrong. Can anybody help me out?
Having an issue with my Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen 2 2i2.
I have tested both my microphone and the cable on a separate audio interface and have found them to work. I believe I have isolated the issue to the interface. Upon connection of an XLR cable, the input level led signal is flickering/flashing all over the place.
Any ideas on what the issue could be? Thinking about taking it into a local parts electrician to see if they would know. Any more information needed? Attached is a video of the issue.
With 1st Gen 18i8’s at giveaway prices and talks of the 3rd gen soon, is it still ok to get one in 2019? I’ll be doing stereo mic setup music college acoustic recitals later this year with my 2012 MacBook pro 15”, rode nt55s, on mojave and Logic pro x at 24/96. I want to run 4 mics with simultenaous spaced omnis and ORTF setups. Hence I’m thinking of getting the 18i8 1st gens because they are so cheap now.
I have a problem that I have had ever since Mac updated to Mojave. No one at Scarlett knows what the issue is so I am hoping someone here can help. I dont use any software. I have the Scarlett plugged directly into the mac by USB and I have a mic in position 1 and 1 in position 2.
The mic in #1 works fine meaning I have sound when I do my Podcast. The mic is #2 does not work, meaning there is no sound, but I do see the lights on the Scarlett light to indicate its working. I tested this issue by switching the cables/mics from position 1 and 2.
hi, i'm new here, a beginner and browsing the internet with what audio interface i should get for my home studio project and will be using it with a windows computer.
right now i'm looking at the behringer u-phoria umc204hd and scarlett 2i4 gen 2 audio interfaces. they are almost identical with the features, has midi i/o as well that can come handy in the future. just different mic preamps and price difference of $90($129 for umc204hd and $219 for scarlett 2i4 gen 2)
