If I could get you guys to give your opinions on each, that'd be great. I just bought the 7506 b/c I'd heard so much about it, but the guy at Guitar Center recommended the ATH-M40's. I went w/what I had heard about, but should I go back and exchange this 7506?

Downloaded the demoversion of Sony Oxford Inflator today out of curiosity and...man...I really don't know what to say...total madness ! Can anybody please explain to a guy who thought he knew how things work what this plugin REALLY does ? For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it basically is a loudness plugin .

I have a chance to get a great deal on one of these, but I am kind of torn. I mean yeah the Sony would be more compatible with other formats instead of the tdm control 24, but this is for an expansion to the studio, which already is using DP3, so we are trying to get a pro tools rig. I've heard there shall be around 80 different types of Sony Super Bit Mapping circuitry - does anyone know about that? I only know of one separate unit, the SBM-1 which is intended for use with Sonys portable DATs. I would gladly hear of anything else existing.

i downloaded the Sony oxford eq for demo purposes and i was wondering if anyone had sometips/best practices for using it...

or perhaps even a few settings to share as a starting point.

i was hoping to use it on mainly on vocal tracks.

i am using it on Digital performer 4.12 with powercore firewire 1.8 on a G4 with Panther.

I am looking to replace my Mackie 16 with a better console for warming up my DAE output (Logic / MOTU 896). I am looking at a couple consoles like the Sony MXP-2000 and Studers. Any professional advice? I'm open to other mixers $5000 and less and I am looking for nice warm sweeteening eq and channels that sound good when the gain is crunched. Thanks!
