my budget is $350 and I need a decent tube pre for recording electric guitar direct.

So I have this all tube guitar amp, (Peavey Classic 30, highly under rated) which has a line coming out right after the preamp, to insert effects and such.

So I was wondering, is there a way to hook a mic into it, use it as mic preamp-amp(on the clean channel, I presume), then have that line out go to a mixer?

Has anyone had a go at the TL Audio Ivory 2 Series 5001 Quad Valve tube Preamp. What's the skinny on this unit and hows it compare to the 4 channel Sytek.

I have a PreSonus tubepre and a bluetube that were my very first stand alone pre's and now I have better pre's so I haven't been using them. The question is, should I sell them or are there any mods I can do with them, could I change the tube? The tubepre needs the gain pot lubed up, its getting scratchy.

Is there any role to not use tube mic with tube pre?
I have Avalon 737sp and nady 1150 and AKG 414 eb.
Which one of mics should I use?

I wanna give my guitarsound a bit of a tube sound. But i dont have the money to get myself a good tubeamp. I own a Pod XT, which i think it sounds good, not perfect but good. Is it a good idea to setup a tubepreamp like a mic. preamp or a tube compressor behind the XT? Ive saw some a Focusrite which looks very nice.

Well its time for another "Give me your recomendations" question again.

Currently my mic preamp set up consists of the following:

1 PreSonus MP20
1 True Systems PS2/analog
1 16 ch. Mackie VLZ pro
Also the pres on my Tascam DM-24 and Tascam FW 1884

Just curious- anyone tried one? Retail about 1K for one channel :D
