ADAT i/o to PC via Firewire or USB
I purchased an Alesis ADAT machine a couple years ago and now would like to transfer my files to my laptop either by firewire or usb. Unfortunately everything I find is over $200 as it has a bunch of inputs (1/4 and xlr) which I dont really need.

Has anyone used the Samson CO1U USB condenser mic?
ARGH! I just discovered this condenser mic that connects DIRECTLY via USB...weeks after spending way too much on a firewire audio interface, microphones, etc. It looks as though this might have met my needs...for a fraction of the cost...I can't imagine that the sound is comparable...but who knows? Has anyone bought and used this thing?

How adequate is USB for connecting exernal hard drive?
My laptop has only one firewire port, for which I may want to use a firebox. Would USB provide sufficient performance for hooking up an external hard drive to record to?

Bad tone w/ a M-Audio USB (Fast Track) please help
I was trying to lay down some guitar, the tone out of my amp was great. I have tried running the guitar through a pedal straight into the M-Audio interface and also from the amp into it, both times the tone of the guitar sounds really staticky/dirty...especially on higher notes. Does anyone know why this is?

Problems with my new MobilePre USB
Ok, guys, I finally popped for a M-Audio MobilePre USB, but I'm having issues with the other sound card.
I want to record through the MobilePre, and monitor through the other sound card, and Sound Forge and Cool Edit Pro are both being grouchy.
Thanks,
Brad Venable

New interface...M-Audio MobilePre USB or E-MU 1820?
Reposting from the Vocal Booth forum...
OK guys...it was suggested in another topic for a new Interface to look into an M-Audio Audiophile MobilePre USB for my computer.
What about the E-Mu 1820 or 1820m?
Ever since I saw one of these, I've become rather enamored of it...
