96kHz and 48kHz on two different interfaces simultaneously??

    My system (to be):
LynxTwo B into Cubase SX3 for audio recording, and a MOTU 2408 mkII with S/PDIF I/O for outboard effects (Kurzweil Rumour/Mangler).

I will be recording at 98kHz into the LynxTwo B. I would like to be able to use the outboard effects units as plug ins WHILE recording. The Rumour/Mangler and MOTU 2408mkII are 48kHz. Someone in another forum thought this would be a problem. I imagine with the diversity of studio setups out there that someone is doing this now.

    Thoughts?

I don't think you can use two seperate units unless they can be clock sync'd and use the same ASIO driver.

Cubase SX does support multiple soundcards. Goto devices>vst connections and create more input buses from each soundcard.

I wouldnt record with a sample rate of 98k, your just wasting hard drive space, unless your going to DVD or SACD.

Why not use the analog I/O on the Rumour?

Looks like that's what I'll have to do...
