Well Dave Mcnair (AKA: the gear whore) has the demo of the Algorithmix Blue eq and I went up to his place to go take a listen to it. A definate add to your eq list of things to try out. for a plugin eq it's sweet. I think it's in the $900 range

I'm glad to see one of their plugs is becoming affordable!

I tried the Red and the Orange. Both were quite nice, but if you already have the Ibis and a Weiss, there's no need (I just can't say enough good stuff about the IBIS. It's almost like there's no "wrong" setting, just varying degrees of "right"). In fact, I thought that the UAD Precision EQ was a close cousin to the red and far less expensive.

I have heard the Blue is a totally different beast from the Red and Orange though - what were your thoughts on the sound?

I thought is sounded really good. there are a bunch of colour options available too. very very flexible. If you want a little more zing than the red, then this is it. I still hate plug in interfaces, having weiss's spoiled me.

Anybody else try the Eliosound "Air" EQ?

Grabbed it during that group buy a couple months ago... "Holy Crap" in the "ex-girlfriend" range (1.5-3.5kHz or so). Haven't been "wowed" like that in a long time...

Of course, the "air" knob is the least impressive part of the whole thing...
