Ive got $1000 to spend on new monitors because my actual M-Audio BX-5s are not good at all. What would you recommend for this budget???
this is what ive been looking,

    Dynaudio BM5A Active
    Mackie HR824
    Alesis 820 DSP

any suggestions on any other set of monitors will be really appreciated.

Genelec 8030. Simply outstanding and should be pretty close to your budget.

Out of those you listed, I'd go with the Dynaudio's.
If you wanted to spend a bit more, go with the Genelec's.

If you wanted to spend less, check out Yorkville YSM1P's. You might be surprised.

How about a pair of Dynaudio BM6 passives and a (perhaps used) Hafler P3000 amp. Probably about $1,125 or so.

if you can affort them genelec- anything, specially the 8000 series
your ears will thank you... for a very long time and you will hear things never discovered before, but beware of discovering weaknesses in your system around them, they tell it like it is !!!
