    Hi everyone.

Well, the project I'd posted about earlier is under way, and I was able to get a few o.k. mics on the gear list (several shures, including some sm81's and an sm7, and a few Neumanns).

The dealer is offering me a deal on some cheapo mics, so I'm thinking of fitting them into my budget. These things look scary, but I thought I'd run them by the RO gang.

I can get a bunch of behringer C1's (Edit!!! I mean B1...) or Samson C01's.

    Which is less horrible?

I'd go with the Samsons if I had to choose, i've used the CO2's which aren't all that horrible

Probably more info than you want, but not necessarily more than you need

It's true, Roger McGuinn from The Byrds uses one for casual recording. Leo LaPorte recommends them. I'd say go with the Samson, apparently they work well with laptops as well as desktops and can result in quite decent quality when everything is setup right.
