Hey guys, as you can tell I'm pretty much knew to this website, and a little newcomer to the music business. But I have a couple of friends who are seriously into and planning on a future music career in hip hop.

Right now I've done all my work with audacity but I'm finding it lacking what I need to make my music more serious. I don't know how to make beats yet, so I stick to instrumentals and make released tracks un-official.

But yeah, I was wondering how I should start out? I am helping my friends out with this and I need to know a more legit, serious, free program that's easy to use, and better than audacity.

    Can anyone help me out?

You can get more legit and you can get more serious but free is hard to beat.

Sony Acid Pro 6. Then purchase yourself some sample loop libraries and you're good to go.

Of course she'll have to shell out a few hundred dollars but it's worth it.

Haven't done acid for years. No, really.

Audacity is pretty easy. You might try Reaper.

KRISTAL audio engine is still free for personal use...whatever that means:)

Does that mean you cannot work for money?
I think working for money is highly over-rated anyway;)
