I need to buy a cable to connect an ADAT interface with another ADAT interface...

What cable should I look for?

A simple optical cable should do, to carry all 8 channels...

are all optical cables the same?
Does it not have a special name like for example 1/4" JACK Lead etc..

Assuming you're referring to ADAT optical you just need optical cables, I think some people call them fiber optic cables, I just call them optical cables, I'm fairly certain there isn't another type of optical cable besides the ones I've used, they have kind of a small square head with a little optical thing on the end.

For consumer audio as well as ADAT, same thing really, there are two different connectors. One is square and one is round and long. All ADAT-s I have seen had the square one, so just get the right connector.
