I have a pair of Sampson monitors which tend to run very HOT and they make for brittle and small sounding tracks for me to use as a reference (i.e. regular CDs that I enjoy). Would it be better to use a pair of Infinity speakers (hifi) instead of these Sampson Resolv50a's (under $300 for the pair)?

Are there any good monitors to think about purchasing for under $500?

Behringer Truth 2031A sounds great for that money!

Or Dynaudio Audience 42 (HI-FI passive) - price range $800.
