Could anyone tell me a good starting point for settigs for hard rock style vocals. I'm using a
Mackie board / Rode NTK / BBE / and a dbx DDP compressor. Looking for specific
    settings for
    ratio,
    threshhold,
    attack, r
    elease,
    knee.
    Thanks a lot, Carl

Specific settings don't mean crap unless they apply to a specific sound.

I read an article on Lord-Alge and he says he compresses the vox to hell. (As well as everything else)

That would be a 666:1 ratio?

Tom Lord-Alge, he said that he pins the meter.
