    hi there,

I came across one of these in a music store for $15.. but it was diagnosed that it needs a new belt. I know this might not be all that's wrong with it but if that IS all that's wrong with it, I'd be willing to buy that and open it up, but my question is does anyone know where I might find a belt for it?

I know I'm not going to find "the belt" from one of these as parts are no longer made, but just wondering if there are places that might sell the various belts like this that I could try.

I see it as a learning opportunity. I've fixed some things before. serviced some gear cleaning pots and such, but knowing I can find a good belt for it would be awesome and not find myself stuck at the gate.

    Thanks,
    Caleb

holy crap! :) that's awesome. I just emailed them to see what they say. thanks so much.! Is this site a good place in general to find parts for things? I probably could come up with some other parts for other gear.

    Thanks!

i'm not trying to be a jerk so don't take this wrong. all i did was run a Google search (......) for Yamaha MTX 12 belts .... and that's what came up.

and YES! ... you can do your own Google searches .... yes you can! happy hunting! :p

no no, that's a fair criticism. honestly i figured stuff like this would just be a long lost part. i've had very poor luck finding parts like fader caps to fostex 4tracks and other stuff so I figured this would be more of the same. Thanks a lot :)

it's pretty amazing what can be found doing a Google search. ebay has a lot ads where people are parting out recorders. i see lots of knobs, caps etc. there are also a lot of retailers doing knobs and other parts. it's all out there, you just have to look for it!
