I found a second hand Focusrite Green 3 pre in mint condition for
    665 Euros ($807)

    good buy?

I heard it's great for instruments too...

IMO $800 bucks is pretty steep for a used one. I am not sure what the original list price of that piece was but it is pretty standard that used gear of this caliber is worth less than half of the original list price. Boutique and classic gear holds its value better.

At that price, you are very close to the amount that you would spend for something really great like the Great River MP1NV ...

I believe the Green range pieces are pretty much the same thing as the Platinum range of Focusrite stuff ... just not as good as the transformer based Red Range ..

I have some Green stuff, and it's very vanilla-sounding. Not good Bryer's vanilla, but more of the soft-serve stuff. I don't use it much.

Your bucks are better spent elsewhere.
