Well, I think it's safe to exhale, my (our) beloved virtual drum company didn't ruin itself w their merger (yet). It seems they've continued their commitment to quality! Now to be fair this set was likely done before the merger, but it's a good sound.

This thing sounds so much like the black albums' drums, I'm not getting it. Lol that's right it's too signature sounding for me. To be fair, I don't buy signature gear in general, since I belive much of the tone is from the person themselves, and besides I'm an individual... But hot damn this thing sounds like what it's supposed to! The black album by Metallica features some of the best sound rock drum sounds of all time, still holding its own 25 years later.

Given the genre itself, and the producer B ob Rock's exhausting (by all accounts) meticulous recording of this album, I think it's hard to even tell it's samples. Because the v drum sounds are amazing, and the consistency of the original album to be so good as to sound almost sampled.

Anyway check it out. It may not be your cup of tea, but I think we're in for more phenomenal sounding libraries for BFD! Hopefully they keep up doing they're originals, without getting too caught up in the signature set game!!
