    Hi all,

New song I had the music to for a while and finally got around to adding lyrics. Different vein to my usual grunge stuff:

    GOT MY ATTENTION
(Words by Jonathan Linton, Music by Jonathan Linton)

    Shake it up
    Play it into your hands
    Turn the right people
    Into your fans
    Take control
    Before they know it
    Smoking gun
    But never show it
    Bible belt
    Punch below it
    Evil wins
    Before we know it

    But I’m watchin’ you

    Wow, such a stunning ascension
    The Right time
    And right pretension
    You got my attention
    You, got my attention

    Break it up
    Unite your right clans
    Sling ***
    Watch where it lands
    Cause a rift
    Then you grow it
    Evidence
    Hide and stow it
    Draw the line
    But never toe it
    Sinking ship
    But still you row it

    Now we’re onto you

    Wow, such a stunning ascension
    The Right time
    And right pretension
    You got my attention
    You, got my attention

    SOLO

    Wow, such a stunning ascension
    The Right time
    And right pretension
    You, got my attention
    You, got my attention
    Break through the surface tension
    Take it to
    Another dimension
    You, got my attention
    You, got my attention

Part takes me back to; The Cars, KISS during the first section of the verse, B-52's second section of the verse and April Wine during the guitar lead. That bass and drum groove is sweet. Catchy. The more I listen to it the more I liked it. Some three part harmony built up before the guitar solo and towards the end would be a nice touch. Just a thought, a reintroduction of the intro could be kool may be right before the guitar lead at 1:56.

I enjoy the vocal orchestration. I hear it as a driving "stoner rock" style (and a bit of kiss as strings said). Id be curious to hear the drums dry and fat, particularly the snare, ala' Fu Manchu or Kyuss, or queens of the stone age.

I get a more modern rock feel out of it, like Velvet Revolver. Another very nice job, Jonathan.
